Braves fall to Bombers
Rome- The Rome Braves fell to the Greenville Bombers 3-1 Saturday night at
State Mutual Stadium before a sellout crowd of 5105.
The Braves got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the second as Cole Armstrong
led off with a double. He advanced to third on a fielders choice by Keith Eichas
and later scored on a sacrifice fly by Johan Silva to give Rome the lead 1-0.

The score remained 1-0 through eight innings but in the top of the ninth, Logan
Sorensen led off with a single to center. Claudio Arias then walked to put runners
at first and second. Rome reliever Kelvin Villa then proceeded to retire the
next two Greenville hitters. With two outs John Otness popped to shortstop Dean
White who dropped the ball to allow the tying run to score. Mitchel Stachowsky
then lined a single to right center to give the Bombers the lead
3-1. Rome failed to score in the bottom half of the inning and Greenville gets
the win. Jesus Delgado picked up the victory (1-0) and Kelvin Villa the loss
for Rome (0-1). Harvey Garcia earned his first save of the year.
Rome and Greenville wrap up the series tomorrow afternoon at two at State Mutual
