Braves Lose Series Finale

Rome, GA – The Rome Braves lost another close game Friday evening to the Columbus Catfish 4-2 before a crowd of 3,827 at State Mutual Stadium. It was Rome’s sixth loss in a row.

Columbus got on the scoreboard first as Ryan Royster started off the second inning with a single to left field and later scored on an RBI single by Joey Callender for the 1-0 lead.

The Braves tied the game 1-1 in the fifth on a two out RBI single by Robert Marcial. Rome took the lead in the bottom of the seventh inning as Rodriguez walked and later scored on an RBI ground out by Chad Lundahl giving Rome the 2-1 lead.

Heavy lightning and thunder delay the game for forty-two minutes and when the dust settled Columbus took the lead for good thanks to a two out, three run homer by Royster giving the Catfish the 4-2 win.

Heath Rollins gets the win for Columbus 8-2 while Chris Medlen is tagged with the loss (0-1) for Rome.

The Braves will take to the road for games in Charleston and Savannah before returning to State Mutual Stadium on July 7th. For ticket information call 706-378-5144 or log on to www.romebraves.com.
