The Crawdads Take Another from the Braves

Rome, GA – The Hickory Crawdads defeated the Rome Braves Sunday afternoon before a crowd of 3,145 fans by a final score of 4-2 extending the Rome losing streak to six and the Hickory winning streak to six.

The Crawdads jumped on the Braves early scoring one in the second and two in the third to take a 3-0 lead. In the fourth inning Hickory would add another run to take a 4-0 lead as Cavagnaro reached on a fielding error by Michael Fisher, moved to second on a De Los Santos walk, and to third on a McClunce single. He later scored on a double play hit into by Miles Durham.

The Braves scored their first run of the afternoon in the fourth on an RBI groundout by Cody Johnson. The second run for the Braves came by way of a solo home run by Stephen Shults (1) but that’s as close as Rome would get and the final was 4-2.
