The Crawdads Take Another from the Braves
Rome, GA – The Hickory Crawdads defeated the Rome Braves Sunday afternoon
before a crowd of 3,145 fans by a final score of 4-2 extending the Rome losing
streak to six and the Hickory winning streak to six.
The Crawdads jumped on the Braves early scoring one in the second and two in
the third to take a 3-0 lead. In the fourth inning Hickory would add another
run to take a 4-0 lead as Cavagnaro reached on a fielding error by Michael Fisher,
moved to second on a De Los Santos walk, and to third on a McClunce single.
He later scored on a double play hit into by Miles Durham.
The Braves scored their first run of the afternoon in the fourth on an RBI
groundout by Cody Johnson. The second run for the Braves came by way of a solo
home run by Stephen Shults (1) but that’s as close as Rome would get and
the final was 4-2.
Brad Lincoln gets the win (1-0) for Hickory, Tom Boleska the save (3), and
Jeff Locke takes the loss for the Braves (1-5).
