Two in a Row for the Braves
Rome, GA – The Rome Braves defeated the Augusta GreenJackets 3-0 Sunday
Afternoon at State Mutual Stadium before 2,579 fans. It was Rome’s second
win in a row over Augusta.
Rome got on the board in the first inning when Jason Heyward doubled and later
scored on a single by Freddie Freeman making the score 1-0.
Rome added two runs in the fourth when Freddie Freeman (17) drove the ball
deep to right field making it a 2-0 game. The second run of the inning was scored
as Adam Coe singled, stole second base, and later crossed the plate on an Augusta
throwing error by Angel Villalona making the score 3-0. The Braves bullpen held
the GreenJackets the rest of the way for the 3-0 shutout.
Edgar Osuna (5-4) gets the win for Rome going seven shutout innings, striking
out four, and holding Augusta to just four hits. Oliver Odule (8-5) is tagged
with the loss for Augusta. Tommy Pailica (4) earned the save going two innings
giving up just one hit.
The Braves and GreenJackets play again tomorrow night at State Mutual Stadium
