Greenville Sneaks Past Braves
Rome, GA – The Greenville Drive defeated the Rome Braves 3-0 Thursday
night at State Mutual Stadium in front of 2,429 fans. The start of the game
was delayed by 2:02 because of rain.
The only scoring of the game came in the sixth inning when Carlos Fernandez
and Ryan Kalish both singled. Jered Stanley then hit the first pitch to left
centerfield which hit off the top of the outfield wall and bounced back into
play. The umpires then ruled it a home run allowing all three runs to score.
Greenville pitching then shut down Rome the rest of the game allowing just three
hits and striking out eleven for the 3-0 shutout win.
Felix Doubront (12-6) gets the win for Greenville going six shutout innings
while Robert McClain (2) earns the save. Cole Rohrbough (2-4) is the tough luck
loser going six innings and striking out eleven. The Rome bullpen allowed no
runs and no hits in three innings of work.
