How Our Webcasts Work

Webcast Configuration Diagram

Our webcast clients provide audio, which is digitized and streamed over the Internet to our servers. When you connect to the webcast, you are connecting through the Internet to our servers which take the one feed from WATG TheRidge 95.7FM and make copies of it for each connected user. The entire process looks a bit like the diagram above.

Sometimes, behind a company or school firewall, some ports can be blocked which prevents connection from users to the server in order to listen. If this is the case, ask your ISP or employer to open the following port: 4020.
